In accordance with the Regulation of Administration of Domain Names under .al and sub domains .com.al, .gov.al, .edu.al, .mil.al and .net.al in order to make the registration the procedure to be followed is as follows:
- In compliance with Article 13, point 13.1 of the regulation, the entities entitled to register a domain name in .al zone and sub domains .com.al, .org.al and .net.al, are the juridical and private persons as well as physical and commercial persons with a commercial activity in the territory of the Republic of Albania registered as such in accordance with the legislation in force for this purpose.
- We verify whether the name required to be registered has been taken or not.
- We make sure the name which is being applied for is conform Syntactic Rules defined in Article 20 of the Regulation, as follows:
A domain name is a series of alphanumeric characters including letters from A to
Z, numbers from 0 to 9 and the sign minus ““.
From a syntactic point of view domain names cannot be registered when:
a) The names have only one character;
b) The names have only two characters;
c) The names begin or end in minus ““;
d) The names have more than 63 characters;
e) The names begin with any two alphanumeric characters followed by two minuses
(xy).

After you have decided on the Domain Name, fill in the registration form Model-1, as follows:

Download the Registration form Model-1.

The domain name is written with capital letters (put a cross at the zone, e.g .com.al and then complete with capital letters, one letter for every box of the domain name).

Complete with capital letters all the areas regarding the Beneficiary details.

Complete with capital letters all the areas regarding the details of the Administrative Contact, in case he is different from the Beneficiary otherwise you put a cross in the appropriate box and continue with point 4.

Complete with capital letters all the areas regarding the Technical Contact details, in case he is different from the Beneficiary otherwise you put a cross in the appropriate box and continue with point 5.

Complete with capital letters the technical data. Completion of data for 2 name-servers (primary and secondary) is obligatory!

Complete with capital letters all the areas regarding the Invoice Payment Contact details when it is different from the Beneficiary, otherwise put a cross in the appropriate box and continue with point II.

Complete with capital letters the name and surname of the Beneficiary, Signature, Place and Date.
The supporting documentation is prepared in accordance with Regulation requirements.During the Transition Period the supporting documents required for the registration of domain names under .al, .com.al, .org.al and .net.al can be found in ANEX 1 of the Regulation. While for the registration of domain names under .gov.al, .mil.al and .edu.al the supporting documents can be found in articles 14, 15, and 17 of the Regulation.

During the Transition Period the application for Registration as well as the supporting documentation can also be sent by post!
- You wait for a period of 5 working days in order for the application to be processed by the Responsible Authority and get an answer.
- If the answer is positive (Your application has been ACCEPTED) you can proceed with making the payment which is 2000 LEKE for 2 years for a registered domain name, and it should be made in the AKEP bank account at the Union Bank as follows:

In USD in the Account No. 111113869030241
In EURO in the Account No. 111113869030128
According to the Regulation, starting from the day of receiving the confirmation for making the payment, the applicant must submit the payment within 20 calendar days otherwise the application is declared invalid and the applicant must reapply from the beginning.
The payment for the Registration of a domain name is regulated with a DCM which is published and can be found in the AKEP web page, www.akep.gov.al.
- If the answer is negative (Your Application has been REFUSED), you can reapply following the relevant remarks made by the Responsible Authority personnel.
The registration of the new domain name as well as sending the confirmation to the Beneficiary is made by the Responsible Authority the day it receives the bank confirmation that the payment has been made. Moreover, together with the payment confirmation the Responsible Authority also sends the information taken by the applicant. In accordance with the Regulation the new possessor can send the respective remarks regarding spelling mistakes that might have been made during application within 15 calendar days. After 15 days the registration is declared closed.
